SUBJECT : CUSTOMS; IMPORT CONTROL ON COMMODITIES UNDER 367 TARIFF LINES; REMOVAL |

In order to meet the needs of further opening to the outside world and reform the import administrative systems of China, it is decided that the import control on commodities under 367 tariff lines shall be removed as of June 30, 1995, which include:
1. The removal of the import license control and import quotas control on the following commodities:
Crude oil, timber, ABS resin, plywood, pulpwood, cloth of chemical fibre, monofil of man-made fibre, filter tips of the cigarrettes, CT equipment and computers.
2. The removal of control on commodities under certain tariff lines:
Tobacco and the products thereof, rubber (compound rubber), air-conditioners with capacity exceeding 4000 kcal and compressors exceeding 5000 Watt, automatic washing machines, ignition reciprocating engines exceeding 1000 cc for vehicles, pesticides and other household refrigerators, plant oil and alcohols.
3. The removal of import license control of the following commodities:
Explosive equipments for civil use and certain chemical fibre.
4. The removal of the import quotas control on the following commodities:
Cereals, copy machines and soda drinks.
5. The removal of the control on commodities under certain tariff lines:
air-conditioners without the refrigerating appliances, pesticides, vehicles' bodies (cabs) and driving axles except those for the cars, chemical products.
6. The removal of the import control on the following commodities:
Some mechanical and electrical products.
