Recently, some courts reported that it is not very clear to them about when the judgment or order of a criminal case shall become effective. After consideration, a reply thereto is hereby given as follows:
According to the spirit of Articles 163, 195 and 208 of the Criminal Procedure Law of the People's Republic of China, a final judgment or order shall become effective as of the date when it is announced.
