For the purposes of ensuring that the drug advertisements are in conformity with the regulations governing the supervision and administration of drugs, further improving the release of drug advertisements, and implementing the Regulation on Drug Packages, Labels and Directions (Interim) (No. 23) and the Detailed Rules for the Regulation on Drug Packages, Labels and Directions (Interim) (No. 482 (2001)), it is hereby notified as follows:
I. From November 1, 2002, the drug administrations of all provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government shall stop accepting, examining and approving the advertisements including words such as "protected Chinese Traditional Medicine", "GMP Authentication", "GSP Authentication", "the state's basic medicines", "in the catalog of drugs for medical insurance use", "medicines for emergent treatment use" etc., which are unable to prove the exact effects of the drugs,
II. Those including the above-mentioned content but approved before November 1, 2002 may continue to be released until the valid term of the advertisements expires.
