Recently, some insurance companies inquire whether they may invest in the central bank bills issued by the People's Bank. We hereby give our notice as follows regarding the relevant issues:
I. Insurance companies may invest in central bank bills. China Insurance Regulatory Commission shall administer the insurance companies investing in central bank bills by regarding them as those investing in financial bonds.
II. Insurance companies shall, when investing in central bank bills, abide by the laws and regulations of the State, and the relevant rules on the banking market.
All insurance companies are requested to inform this Commission of the questions in their investing in central bank bills.
