According to the experience of judicial practice, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress has discussed the relevant issues concerning the application of the provisions of Criminal Law to the acts of smuggling, larceny, destroying, selling off and illegal transfer of fossils of ancient vertebrates and ancient humans of scientific value and it hereby makes an interpretation as follows:
The relevant provisions of the Criminal Law on cultural relics shall apply to the fossils of ancient vertebrates and ancient humans of scientific significance.
