It was decided at the fourth session of the Standing Committee of the Tenth National People's Congress that the "United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime", which was adopted at the 55th United Nations General Assembly on November 15, 2000 and executed by the Government of the People's Republic of China on December 12 of the same year, was approved; meanwhile, it was declared as follows:
I. The People's Republic of China reserved Paragraph 2 of Article 35 of the Convention, and is thus not bound by the said clause.
II. Before being separately notified by the Government of the People's Republic of China, the Convention is not applicable to Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China for the time being.
